Dr. David Baird is a Michigan native, having grown up in the Detroit area. His journey towards dermatology began at Hope College, where he received his Bachelor of Science in biology and biochemistry. There, he was a Magna Cum Laude graduate and was elected Phi Beta Kappa. He then went on to medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he was a Suma Cum Laude graduate, and elected Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Baird then went on to complete an internship at William Beaumont Hospital, and a dermatology residency at Henry Ford Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. He also received his board certification from the American Board of Dermatology.
Today, Dr. Baird is an active participant in the maintenance of certification program. He is also a member of multiple professional societies, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the Michigan Dermatological Society, the Michigan State Medical Society, and the Oakland County Medical Society. Furthermore, he was also the previous Vice Chair of the Dermatology Foundation. Dr. Baird has hospital staff privileges at Providence Hospital and Detroit Medical Center.
Along with his medical duties, Dr. Baird is a published author and speaker at both state and national meetings. He is a winner of various health provider awards, and can be found on the “top dermatologist list”.
